For five McPherson High girl soccer players, it was worth the wait.

The Kansas Soccer Coaches Association finally released its All-State lists for the 2017 season and the Class 4-1A team was populated with Bullpups.

MHS’ Alayna Wallace, Aislinn Hughes and Laiken Hein were all named to the first team. Bullpups earning second-team honors were Claire Hedlund and Heidi Myers.

Bishop Miege swept most of the individual honors as Sophia Stram was named Offensive Player of the Year, Megan Homoly was Defensive Player of the Year and Nate Huppe was Coach of the Year. Thomas More Prep’s Deonna Wellbrock was tabbed Goalie of the Year.
