LINDSBORG – The Bethany College athletic department announces that Matt Walters will be the keynote speaker for fall athlete preseason move-in.

Walters is the football sideline reporter for Learfield Sports working with K-State. For the Wildcats, Walters hosts the football pregame show, the postgame show and is live on the sidelines. He is also a color analyst for men's basketball and a play-by-play voice for women's basketball and baseball.

"I've loved sports since I was a little kid, just broadcasting sports you get to know the student-athletes and the coaches," Walters said. "I love developing those relationships and meeting people in other Big 12 cities, my job is a blast."

Before finishing his degree at K-State, Walters was a Swede himself from 1988-90. His love of broadcasting drew him to KSU where he has kept a broadcasting career for the last 31 years. However, he is very thankful for his time at Bethany.

"I am really honored that Dane (AD Pavlovich) has asked me to do this," Walters said. "I still have many great relationships today from my time in Lindsborg."

Walters will speak on campus at the conclusion of the fall athlete move-in on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. inside the Burnett Center.
