MHS, area backs highlighted

Two running backs from McPherson High, two from Smoky Valley and one from Hesston have been pinpointed by  CatchItKansas.comto be among the best in Kansas this season.

Hesston’s Parker Roth was ranked No. 5 after propelling the Swathers into the Class 3A state championship game. Roth went over 1,000 yards in his sophomore year.

Smoky Valley’s Kyle Anderson was ranked No. 11 after averaging 130 yards a game for the playoff-participant Vikings. His teammate Odell was named in the “others to watch” category.

McPherson High’s Tyson Stites and Wyatt Seidl were also tabbed as “others to watch.”

The No. 1-ranked running back is Derby’s Brody Kooser, who had 1,681 yards and 30 TDs as a junior.
