LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley’s volleyball team is in the rebuilding mode after last year’s 27-win team was dominated by seniors.

The new-look and youthful Vikings competed Saturday in the Central Kansas League Preseason Tournament and it was a good measuring stick.

The Vikings went 1-2 in pool play, with the win coming against Larned while the losses were to Nickerson and Hoisington.

In the consolation bracket, the Vikes lost to Haven and Lyons.

Smoky Valley is back in action Thursday at Abilene.
