ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Maybe it was the long trip that sapped some of its energy, but the Central Christian College women’s soccer team could never get anything going on Friday in a 4-0 loss to highly touted Northwestern College.
Goldie Bougher was kept busy by making 8 saves.
“"We weren't as sharp as we needed to be tonight,” Central coach Scott Fogarty said. "Northwestern is a big, physical team and we got muscled around tonight. They made it tough for us to get going. Having said that though, we were nearly even with them in shots. The difference was they were more clinical and were able to generate higher quality chances. It's actually a good lesson for us because we're going to see more of this type of play in our new conference. For now we have to rebound and get focused for tomorrow."
Central plays today at Dordt College.
