SALINA — Central Christian College’s golf teams competed in the two-day Kansas Wesleyan Invitational that was completed on Tuesday, with Bethany College also in the field.
The Tiger men were 10th out of 14, led by Collin Duckworth. After shooting 78 on Monday, he stormed back with a 72 for a 150 total, good for a tie for 22nd.
Other CCC scores were Lowell Stephens (75-76-151), Tyler Swanson (83-78-161), Trehern McGill (82-80-162) and Matt Rettinger (83-84-167).
Bethany’s men were fourth, led by Juan Pablo Sin (74-73-147) and Birgir Magnusson (69-78-147). Also competing for the Swedes were Jorge Monagas (73-76-149), Jose Maria Cunha (77-73-150) and James Fisher (86-80-166).
The Swedes had a second entry that took sixth, led by Nathan Limbacher (74-72-146), who tied for 12th. Other scores were Josh Meeks (75-78-153), Jordan Della Guistina (78-75-153), Juan Garcia (75-80-155) and Scott Farrall (75-81-156).
Dodge City was the team champion. Medalist was Troy Watson of host Kansas Wesleyan, who had rounds of 70-68-138.
For the Central women, Kari Kirl had a splendid fourth-place finish by shooting rounds of 80-78-158. MaiLeAna Bruce was 15th with 92-86-178.
Other CCC scores were Sarah Gordzelik (107-100-207), Summer Bruce (106-105-211) and Vanessa Warner (114-109-223).
Bethany’s women were second behind tourney runner-up Aspen Bryant, who had rounds of 79-75-154. Other Swede scores were Savannah Pinson (86-90-176), Marisa Loy (96-89-185), Joie Francis Ramirez (89-97-186) and Kayla Turley (100-96-196).
Dodge City, led by medalist Suthasinee Sridet (76-75-151), was the team champion.
