STERLING — It was another Top 5 finish for Inman cross country ace Nicholas Martisko during Thursday’s Sterling Invitational.
Martisko ran a 17:33.2 to take fifth place.
Other Inman finishers were Nathan Bashore (35th in 18:48.8), Jacob Harris (75th in 21:05.1) and Peter Buller (76th in 21:10).
“Nicholas added another medal to his collection finishing fifth. Nathan, Jacob and Peter all ran a personal best. All the runners turned in a tremendous effort,” Inman coach Jay Parsons said.
Inman did not have a full team.
“The numbers were short for our team due to other activities and injuries, but everyone who did run ran very well and was competitive,” Parsons said. “It was also nice that the rain held off, the wind blew a little and the temperature was cool.”
Tia Cole ran in the girls JV race and was 12th in 27:28.3. Inman did not take a full team to this meet.
“She has made tremendous improvement since the first of the season,” Parsons said of Cole. “The goal now is to carry that effort (time) into the league meet next week.”
The HOA meet is Tuesday, hosted by Trinity Catholic in Hutchinson.
