Bulldog netters outlasted by Emporia State

EMPORIA — McPherson College’s men's tennis team closed out its fall season Thursday afternoon with a 6-3 loss to NCAA Division II Emporia State University at the Milton Tennis Courts.

The Bulldogs grabbed their initial point at No. 1 doubles as Ahmed Lahlou and Hector Carrillo Perales defeated Patrick Cameron and Matheus Mota, 8-4. 

Mac’s Jacob Turley and Andreas Huber fell 8-3 at the No. 2 spot, while Juan Alejandro Jimenez and Leandro Neix Bazzanini suffered an 8-5 loss at the No. 3 spot as the Hornets took the final two doubles points.

McPherson scored two more points in singles play as Carrillo picked up a 6-2, 7-6 (4) win over Cameron at No. 4 singles and Huber toppled Anton Levanovich by a 6-0, 7-6 (3) score at No. 6 singles. 

Lahlou fell to Gerard Pont, 7-6 (6), 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Turley went down to Oliver Dixon 6-3, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, Jimenez lost to Charles Gortzounian, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and Julien Bodin was stopped by Mota, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
