LINDSBORG — A 26-point third-quarter explosion was the difference Monday night as Bethany College’s women’s basketball team evened its record at 1-1 with a 62-50 victory over Nebraska Christian.
The Swedes were up only 26-20 at the half when they equaled their point total of the first 20 minutes in the third quarter to widen the gap to 52-34.
Thirteen Swedes scored as coach Keith Ferguson has a team with plenty of depth. Marissa Pope, a transfer from Cowley County, led the way with 12 points.
Bethany plays again tonight when it goes on the road to take on Peru State.
