LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s volleyball team denied McPherson College its 20th win of the season on Wednesday as it upset the Bulldogs in four sets.
The Swedes won 25-18, 25-20 before the Bulldogs bounced back for a 25-19 win. But Bethany, which has been improving greatly as the season has gone along, fended off the Bulldogs 25-23 in the deciding set.
It was the first real stumble for the Bulldogs in recent weeks as they are now 14-7 in the KCAC and 19-10 overall while Bethany is 10-9 in the KCAC and 11-19 overall.
The Bulldogs play Friday at last-place Southwestern. They are assured of being no worse than the No. 5 seed for the upcoming postseason tournament. If Mac wins and Tabor defeats Oklahoma Wesleyan on Friday, the Bulldogs will be the No. 4 seed.
