The Sport Center is the venue tonight when McPherson College and Central Christian College renew their intracity basketball rivalry.
The women’s game tips off at 6 p.m., with the men’s game starting approximately 8:00. These games generally draw a large-and-spirited crowd as the student sections on both sides turn out en masse.
It will be just the second game for the Central women, who opened their season with a 91-42 loss to KCAC member Bethel.
The Bulldogs, meanwhile, have winged away to a 3-0 start, including wins over Bellevue and Haskell, teams that have been in or near the Top 25 rankings in the past.
The men’s game figures to be much more competitive. Central is 2-0, including a victory over KCAC member Kansas Wesleyan. The Bulldogs are 1-2, but one loss came after letting a 17-point lead get away in the second half while Mac’s other loss came after leading at halftime.
Mac won both games last year, the men’s game 80-65 and the women’s game 84-51. Central’s men had won the previous two meetings before last year.
