McPherson’s eighth-grade A-boys stayed perfect on the basketball season by racing past Andover Central 50-32 here Thursday.
Seth Madron had it going all game long for MMS with a team-high 32 points.
“The A-team was able to play in front of the student body for our PBR assembly and they came out with ton of energy and jumped on them quick,” MMS coach Tyler Brown said. “We went up 11 by the end of the first quarter, but seem to run out of steam. We didn't find our energy again until the fourth quarter.”
The B-team lost 50-18 despite 4 points by Xavier Sutherlin.
“The B-team played just their second game and it showed,” Brown said. “They are still learning the system. We really struggled breaking their press. We have to get stronger with the ball and be able to execute a pass under pressure and just know where we are suppose to be on the floor and where to go.”

MMS B (18) — Sutherlin 4, Mattox 3, Mellot 3, Jones 2, Williams 2, Johnson 2, Gibbs 2.
