A very talented Hutchinson seventh-grade girls basketball team came into town to take a twinbill from McPherson on Thursday.
Hutch was a 29-13 winner in the A-game. Alexis Dukes topped the Bullpups with 7 points.
“The girls played hard tonight and are really showing improvement on defense,” MMS coach Kaleigh Huxman said. “Ella Buschbom battled tirelessly in the paint grabbing rebounds for us. On the offensive end, we just had a hard time putting the ball in the basket. We are excited to have one more chance to get to better on Monday before heading into Christmas break.”
The B-team lost 34-7 as the MMS attack was balanced.
“The girls showed a vast improvement over the last couple days,” Bullpup coach TJ Jackson said. “Against a fairly strong Hutch team the girls hustled and played very strong defense. Offensively, we get a lot of opportunities and we just need to make our easier shots. The girls had an overall strong game.”
