McPherson High’s Shrine Bowl streak continues.

Starting back with Tanner Hawkinson in 2008, the Bullpups have had a selection every year since.

The Bullpups had several prominent candidates for the 2018 game, with Wyatt Seidl being picked by the Shrine Bowl committee for the 45th annual game July 28 at Carnie Smith Stadium on the campus of Pittsburgh State.

Joining him on the West team are Kyle Anderson of Smoky Valley and Reese Nebel of Hesston.

Smoky Valley’s Tim Lambert and Hesston’s Tyson Bauerle have been selected for the West coaching staff. Goddard’s Scott Vang is the West head coach, with Nemaha Central’s Warren Seitz the East’s head coach.

After Hawkinson, Zach Peterson was the MHS selection in 2009. Other selections since then are Joel Piper, Christian Ulsaker, Jordan Hart, Collin French, Garrett Larson, Ty Hart, Jake Nikkel, Jack Reifschneider and Jared Ruth. Reifschneider and Ruth both played in the game last summer.
