The members of the McPherson Quilt Guild have been busy. So busy, in fact, that that they are able to present two different shows when they display their quilts at the McPherson Public Library in January and February.
The first show, which opened on January 3rd, is titled Quilts for Every Season and will feature a variety of quilts made by members. The February show, Dyeing to Make a Quilt, will include quilts made from fabric hand-dyed or hand-painted by Quilt Guild members.
The McPherson Quilt Guild was started by a group of women who were interested in quilts as an art form. 2017 marks their 30th years as a community organization.
“We enjoy having the Guild’s quilts in the gallery during the cold winter months. The rich colors, cozy textures, and intricate designs lend an all-around warm feeling to the library,” states Shannon Brake, Marketing and Communications Manager for the library.
