INMAN — Can it really be 25 years already?

Inman High will be honoring its 1993 Class 2A state championship girls basketball team during Friday’s home games with Sedgwick.

The Teutons were annually one of the best teams in the state from 1985 to 1995, not to mention many of some of those same girls helped Inman to volleyball prominence, including state championships in 1989 and 1994 under coach Russ Goering.

From 1985 to 1995, Inman was 197-42 in basketball, with six state tournament appearances. The Teutons at one point won 33 straight games and 38 in a row at home. In 1993, Inman won 20 straight games, highlighted by the state championship victory, a 46-40 decision over Central of Burden.

Seniors on the team were Chelsey Ediger, Michelle Menke and Jennifer Neufeld. Juniors included Heidi Hawkinson, Sarah Hull, Sheila McKim and Tawni Schroeder. Kristi Abrahams, Andrea Hildebrand, Liz Neufeld, Lisa Schmidt and Laura Worthing were sophomores. Joe Pfannenstiel was the head coach, assisted by Leighton Kaloupek.
