ELLSWORTH — Hesston took only six wrestlers to Saturday’s Ellsworth Invitational, but the Swathers still finished a creditable sixth out of 11 teams.
Sean Duerksen led the way for Hesston by winning both of his matches at 220 to take first.
Matt Whitsitt, at 160, went 3-1 to take second. He suffered his first loss of the year in the finals, losing to Joshua Ball of Hoisington.
Also placing for Hesston were Jason Hecht (3rd at 126), Alex Koehn (3rd at heavyweight) and Austin Griffin (6th at 152).
Hoisington won the team title with 182 points, with Nickerson second at 100. The Swathers scored 58.
