SALINA — It was a tough day for McPherson’s seventh-grade girls on Monday against Salina South.

The A-team was defeated 47-13 despite 9 points by Alexis Dukes.

“It was great to see the girls back in action tonight,” MMS coach Kaleigh Huxman said. “We played hard and never gave up. We are dealing with a few injuries right now, which is tough, but it was exciting to see new players step up tonight.”

The B-team was blanked, 46-0.

“Losing is never fun,” MMS coach TJ Jackson said. “There's been a lot of that this season, but I keep telling the girls that if you learn to fight and never quit, you will give yourself a chance to be great someday. The other teams coach and AD both complimented the effort and hustle of our kids they showed even when behind by a large deficit.”

MMS A (13) — Dukes 9, Lang 2, Buschbom 2.

MMS B (0) — None.
