Burnin’ Down Main happening this weekend

The Burnin’ Down Main Chili Cook-off will be held this Saturday, Oct. 6.

Public tasting of the soup and chili will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. All participants must purchase a $5 wristband to receive a sample of each entry and the opportunity to vote for Soup, Chili and Team Spirit.

Wristbands also provide the chance to sample multiple desserts after the Dessert Contest judging. Still hungry? There will be plenty of chili donated by Wendy's, which is included in the wristband price. We invite local non-profit groups to sell water and soft drinks.

Free pumpkins will be given to the first 100 kids with paint available for decorating on site. 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Other activities include:

-Touch-A-Truck | 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. | 100 block of East Marlin

-Free Face Painting | 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Marlin & Main Streets

-Live Music | Sam Unruh | 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. | Marlin & Main Streets

Wear your wristband into Noffy's for Craft Beer specials and $1 of each beer sold will be donated to the Downtown Beautification Fund.

Shuttle services will be available to and from the Kansas Barn Sale at Lakeside Park.
